our project
Cultural heritage has a universal value for us as individuals, communities and societies. It forms the
identity of countries and the way we live and it can be found all around us: in architecture and in nature but also in archaeological sites. We can’t only find it in our literature and art but also in music, films and the food we enjoy. Through cherishing our cultural heritage, we can discover our diversity and start an intercultural conversation about what we have in common. It is important to preserve and pass on to future generations. |
Since cultural heritage was the theme of the European year of 2018 we decided to start a project about cultural heritage in 2017 and after winning a cultural heritage award during the 2018 closing ceremony of the European Commission in Vienna, Austria we decided to
apply for funding so our students and teachers involved will have an opportunity to experience, share and pass on our cultural heritage to others. |
The main objectives of our project are to:
- encourage our students to discover and engage with Europe's cultural heritage first-hand.
- reinforce a sense of belonging to Europe
- promote teamwork and intercultural learning
- practise foreign languages
